Some Facts about Electrolysis:

Electrolysis can be performed on any skin type, and hair color.

Electrolysis can be used on any part of the body except mucous membranes.

The hair growth cycle for each individual hair is generally between 8 to 13 weeks.

Increased blood supply and/or hormonal or glandular imbalance often stimulates new hair growth.

Electrolysis is not a one-time treatment.

Treatments can take anywhere from 6 months to one or two years and/or more, depending on the amount and condition of the existing hair.

If you have been tweezing or waxing, hairs are often coarser and deeper.
-
Waxing and tweezing will worsen the hair growth problem. You should not tweeze or wax while undergoing treatment.

Each hair has to be treated individually, which is why treatment takes time and persistence.

You must have patience, be consistent and maintain your commitment to see permanent results.

Some sensation may be felt during treatments as the probe/filament enters the follicle and when the current is applied, but most patients easily tolerate electrolysis.

Topical anaesthetics are available and can be applied prior to your appointment to help increase your comfort level and decrease sensitivity during treatments.

Aftercare Tips
Please follow the instructions recommended below for best results after your electrolysis treatment:

Keep the area clean and avoid touching.

Keep the area hydrated with water-based products such as Tesoro Botanicals’ Hydra Drops and Rose Hydrating Mist.

Avoid exfoliating for at least 72 hrs.
-
Avoid make-up or oil-based skincare products for 24 hrs.
-
Avoid tanning or direct sunlight for 24 hrs.
After treatment, you may experience:

Redness, swelling and sensitivity of the skin in the area which has been treated.

Pin dot crusting or small scabs may appear within the treated area; these will slough off naturally.

The skin may itch as the healing process takes place.
-
Tell your Electrologist about any unusual reactions immediately in order to modify your treatment accordingly.

Elite Electrolysis is a very warm and inviting place where you’re treated with respect. I have been going for a year now and the results are great! I barely have any hair popping up in the treated areas. I appreciated the honesty in Suzanne telling me that it would take a good year of treatments. That way I was prepared and continued with treatments because I knew how long the process would take. Now I can basically go see her when I see any new hair growth, which should be much less often. Suzanne runs on time, so I know when I have an appointment at a certain time, I will be treated and can make plans after that, no problem. Her business is centrally located so it’s convenient for a lot of people to get to and the parking in the back is easy and always available. Do not let the size of the establishment or the fact that it is in a residential zone scare you off or fool you for a second. Elite Electrolysis is a hidden gem. Owned by a mother/daughter team these women are experts and perform their duties with the care and attention you would expect from a professional clinic. Suzanne has taken additional courses in esthetics and offers up the best facial you'll ever have. Amazing! Virginia specializes in electrolysis (although Suzanne is also skilled in this area) and I can personally attest that it works if you are prepared to be disciplined. The treatments are permanent and worth every penny. Both ladies speak fluent Spanish as well as English. This is a must do for anyone wishing to be rid of unwanted hair.
